Teledyne FLIR has secured a five-year deal to deliver Black Hornet 4 Personal Reconnaissance Systems to the US Army.
The nano-UAS platforms are part of the Soldier Borne Sensor initiative, providing enhanced situational awareness through compact, hand-launched drones.
The contract’s initial value is $25 million, which includes drones, controllers, spares, and training support.
Total contract value could reach $91 million if all options are fulfilled over the five years.
Assembly will be handled at Teledyne FLIR’s Norwegian facility, with initial shipments commencing in September 2024.
These systems are intended to improve operational safety and reconnaissance effectiveness for US soldiers.
