The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a $2.4 billion contract to purchase 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling tankers. This latest order, covering the 11th production lot, brings Boeing’s total contracted KC-46s to 168 globally, the company announced. Since 2019, Boeing has delivered 89 KC-46s to the Air Force, along with four to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Israel has also ordered four KC-46s, with deliveries set to begin in 2025. According to the Pentagon, production of the 15 new tankers—built at Boeing’s Everett, Washington facility—is expected to be completed by the end of June 2028.
