Nagpur-based Economic Explosives Ltd (EEL) has launched India’s largest privately operated drone testing facility, featuring a 1.4 km runway specifically designed for long-range UAVs. This major infrastructure development is a critical step in advancing indigenous UAV technology. The facility will play a key role in supporting trials of EEL’s Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV, which is under development for potential use by the Indian Armed Forces. EEL plans to leverage the site to fast-track testing and enhance the design and capabilities of its drone platform.
