Under the U.S. Army’s Lethal Unmanned Systems (LUS) initiative, AeroVironment has been awarded a $55.3 million contract to provide Switchblade loitering munitions. This is the second delivery under a five-year deal granted in August, with a maximum potential value of $990 million. The LUS directive focuses on enhancing soldiers’ ability to strike heavily fortified targets, including armored platforms and tanks.
