The Hellenic Air Force has received its 30th upgraded F-16 Viper from Lockheed Martin, a U.S. defense contractor. This upgrade significantly enhances Greece’s defense and its ability to operate in coordination with allied militaries. The aircraft is a component of a comprehensive modernization program designed to improve Greece’s air combat capabilities. The upgrade effort began in 2018, based on a $1.5 billion agreement to convert US-built F-16s to the Viper configuration.
