After facing several testing failures, the US Army’s “Dark Eagle” hypersonic weapon system is expected to become operational this year. The milestone was noted in a recent congressional report and confirmed by a defense official to Defense News. According to the document, the long-range ground-based LRHW will be delivered to its initial unit before the conclusion of fiscal year 2025.
