Rolls-Royce has secured a supply agreement with the Royal Canadian Navy to provide propulsion and power systems for its first trio of River-class destroyers. This deal supports the navy’s modernization drive with advanced maritime technology.
The package includes the MT30 marine gas turbine, Mission Bay Handling System, and MTU Series 4000 diesel generators for each ship. The turbine and handling system will be delivered via a contract signed with Irving Shipbuilding, the main builder of the vessels. Meanwhile, the diesel generator agreement is currently being finalized with Wajax Power Systems, Rolls-Royce’s licensed distributor in Canada.
