Hungary has officially received the first batch of three L-39 Skyfox jet trainers from Czech manufacturer Aero Vodochody at Kecskemét Air Base in southern Hungary. These jets are part of a larger 12-aircraft deal aimed at upgrading the country’s air training infrastructure.

The new trainers will serve with the 101st Tactical Training Squadron under the Vitéz Szentgyörgyi Dezső Aviation Brigade, supporting Hungary’s efforts to expand its in-house pilot training programs. These aircraft will also be integrated into NATO’s Flight Training Europe initiative, which provides standardized pilot instruction across multiple allied nations. Aero Vodochody will also provide full support, including simulators, ground tools, and crew training solutions.
