BAE Systems has landed a $30 million contract from the US Navy to upgrade its AN/APX-123A(V) IFF transponder technology.
The improvements will replace outdated systems on platforms such as UAVs, naval vessels, jets, and helicopters.
This advanced transponder will improve air defense operations, weapons control, and air traffic systems for both the Navy and joint forces.
BAE will perform the work at its facilities in Texas and New York, with deliveries set to finish by 2027.
