Texas-based aerospace company Skyways has received a $37-million contract from the US Air Force to transition its V3 autonomous cargo drone from prototype phase to mass production.
The contract covers the finalization of the production-ready design, expansion of manufacturing capabilities, and further refinement of the drone’s autonomous flight systems.
The broader objective is to enable deployment of thousands of V3 units for logistics and cargo transport across military and civilian use cases.
This agreement also sets the stage for the V3 to become an official Program of Record, unlocking long-term funding for development, upgrades, and sustained operations.
