The US Department of Defense has awarded Lockheed Martin a $56-million contract to provide maintenance and logistics support for the C-5M Super Galaxy transport aircraft.
This contract is part of a wider avionics upgrade initiative to enhance the performance and reliability of the air force’s strategic lift fleet.
The upgrades are intended to reinforce the Air Mobility Command and Air Force Reserve Command’s operational capabilities for missions including aerial refueling, long-range cargo transport, and global humanitarian efforts.
