Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX, has secured a new contract from Dynetics (a Leidos company) to deliver TJ150 turbojet engines for the Black Arrow Small Cruise Missile.
The TJ150 is a compact, high-thrust turbojet known for quick manufacturing timelines, proven reliability, and versatile applications. Producing 150 pounds of thrust, the engine is optimized for high-altitude performance and can support various autonomous platforms and weapon systems across U.S. and global markets.
While integration discussions began in 2023, the current contract officially launched in April 2025 and is set to continue through the first quarter of 2026, with provisions for potential follow-on orders.
To date, the TJ150 has been deployed in multiple missile programs, with more than 2,700 units delivered worldwide. Pratt & Whitney is incorporating additive manufacturing to further improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and expand sourcing options.
