NEODE Systems, a start-up launched by MBDA to advance digital and AI-based defense technologies, has landed its inaugural contract from France’s DGA on behalf of the French Army.
Just 18 months after its founding, the contract focuses on demonstrating enhanced beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) performance for the Akeron MP missile when operated using MBDA’s Ground Warden AI decision-making tool. A series of live-fire tests is scheduled by year-end to evaluate the system’s performance.
The outcome of these tests could lead to a licensing agreement, delivering a rapid-response capability to the French Army. NEODE Systems, established in January 2024, is part of MBDA’s effort to fast-track innovation and deliver software-based upgrades to enhance battlefield responsiveness and system agility.
