Portuguese company EID has launched TerraNEX, a tactical communications system built for deployment in military vehicles and fixed command posts.
Designed to fit seamlessly into defense communication networks, TerraNEX is a flexible platform compatible with IP-based technologies, advanced audio controllers, network management applications, and other subsystems to enable secure, real-time coordination across the battlefield.
In a recent field trial in Santa Margarida, conducted with the Portuguese Army, TerraNEX successfully connected various radio systems and waveforms, accessed secured military internet, and communicated with soldier-level equipment.
The system was also tested on Pandur 8×8 armored vehicles and M577 carriers, demonstrating its functionality in mobile operations.
EID CEO Martin Bennett emphasized that TerraNEX meets NATO standards and will play a key role in strengthening mission readiness and advancing defense modernization for both national and allied forces.
