The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has finalized the development of the K-5 SLBM, a nuclear-capable missile with a 5,000–6,000 km range. The announcement came during the Kerala Spacepark (KSPACE) foundation ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram, where it was also revealed that the K-4 missile (3,500 km) has entered service on Arihant-class submarines. Work is progressing on the K-6 SLBM, expected to reach ranges of 8,000 km and speeds up to Mach 7.5. These developments were shared during a defense technology panel featuring experts, government representatives, and industry stakeholders. KSPACE is envisioned as a hub for aerospace innovation and collaboration.
