Local media report that Nigeria has launched its inaugural fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles for the armed forces.

The newly commissioned fleet—comprising 20 buses, 50 pickups, and 14 executive units—was introduced at Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja. This rollout supports the government’s clean energy agenda. CNG, known for its lower emissions compared to gasoline and efficiency on par with traditional fuels, is compatible with all vehicle categories.

The fuel is produced by compressing natural gas to a small fraction of its original volume.
