Airbus plans a major transformation of its A400M transport aircraft to align with the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) and the Multi-Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC) concepts.
The upgraded A400M will function as a central communications hub, enabling seamless coordination between manned and unmanned forces across multiple domains including air, land, maritime, space, and cyber.
In addition, it will be equipped for electronic warfare, precision strike missions, and the deployment of Remote Carriers—advanced unmanned platforms that can be released near combat zones and remotely piloted if necessary.
