AeroVironment has rolled out the P550, a new unmanned eVTOL aircraft system being considered for the US Army’s long-range reconnaissance needs. The platform’s modular construction allows for rapid reconfiguration on the battlefield, enabling it to switch between reconnaissance and strike roles without external equipment. The P550 is a Group 2 UAV, weighing 21–55 pounds (10–25 kg) and capable of flying at a maximum altitude of 3,500 feet (1,067 meters).
