The US Army has contracted AeroVironment to deliver its premier Switchblade loitering munition systems under a $288 million deal. This contract is part of a five-year framework awarded last year for both the 300 and 600 variants of the kamikaze drone, with a potential total worth of $990 million if all options are utilized. AeroVironment received its first order in August 2024 and a second order was announced the following month.
