Australia has received the last nine F-35A Lightning II jets from its original order of 72, concluding a procurement effort that began in 2010. As outlined in the country’s defense policy, the new aircraft will serve alongside the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler at RAAF Base Williamtown, New South Wales. The F-35A is actively used by the Royal Australian Air Force across three operational squadrons and a training group stationed in both New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
