Australia has taken delivery of its first M142 HIMARS platform as part of a foreign military sale with the US, marking a key milestone in its defense modernization efforts. The acquisition aligns with the country’s plan to strengthen long-range precision strike capabilities in response to emerging threats. The program, valued at 1.6 billion Australian dollars ($1 billion), includes procurement of as many as 42 HIMARS systems.
