Shift Coastal Technologies has introduced a new unmanned surface vehicle designed to extend autonomous operations into hazardous littoral environments and support high-risk maritime missions.

The OceanSled Explorer measures 3.6 meters in length and weighs 280 kilograms, with the capacity to carry payloads of up to 454 kilograms.

Powered by as many as three high-capacity rechargeable batteries, the USV is capable of operating in temperatures of up to 40°C and is optimized for endurance in challenging coastal conditions.

Designed for agility, the Explorer can operate in surf zones, estuaries, and riverine environments, achieving speeds of up to 6 knots while maintaining stability and control in complex littoral waters.

The platform is equipped with advanced sensor suites, real-time data connectivity, and two-way voice communications, enabling persistent monitoring and enhanced situational awareness.

Its mission set includes intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations, port and maritime security, infrastructure inspection, and sonar-based mapping.

Additional capabilities include digital twin creation, high-resolution imaging, and support for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore logistics across both classified and unclassified missions.

The modular payload architecture allows rapid reconfiguration, making the OceanSled Explorer adaptable for both commercial and defense applications.
