The People’s Liberation Army Navy of China has launched the Sichuan, its inaugural amphibious assault vessel of the Type 076 class. With a displacement surpassing 40,000 tons, a twin-island layout, and a full-length flight deck, Sichuan stands as the largest warship ever built by China. Designed to operate helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, the ship is also equipped with advanced electromagnetic catapult and arrestor gear to support fighter jet operations. Post-launch, it will proceed to comprehensive sea trials and evaluations.
