The Danish Ministry of Defence has acquired advanced simulators, known as “threat emitters,” to enhance the training of its F-35 Lightning II pilots. These devices replicate the behavior of enemy radar systems, allowing operators to practice identifying and reacting to hostile threats using live radar views from their jets. This move supports recommendations from Danish defense officials to boost realism in pilot training. The investment aligns with Denmark’s recent addition of four new F-35A jets from Lockheed Martin in May, raising its fleet total to 15. An additional six aircraft are slated for delivery by the end of 2026.
