The United Arab Emirates-based EDGE Group has secured a major deal to supply eight Falaj-3 naval patrol vessels to Kuwait in a contract valued at $2.45 billion.
This comprehensive agreement includes design, construction, testing, and logistics, as well as in-service support, marking a significant expansion of regional defense ties. EDGE described the contract as a milestone of “strategic and large-scale” significance.
Kuwait and the UAE, both members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, face mutual maritime security challenges. Previously, Kuwait had engaged EDGE to refurbish and upgrade existing naval platforms and assist in personnel training.
