DroneShield, a defense technology firm based in Sydney, has won three contracts to supply handheld counter-drone detection systems and accessories to a European military buyer, working through a local reseller.
The combined contracts are valued at 61.6 million Australian dollars ($40 million) and represent DroneShield’s largest single order to date, exceeding its total revenue for 2024. The systems are set for delivery by the third quarter of this year. This order builds on a 32.2-million Australian dollar ($21 million) contract the company secured in April.
To meet rising global demand, DroneShield will establish its first European manufacturing and assembly facility, its first outside Australia. The site, called the European Centre of Excellence, will support production, drone testing, training, and R&D, while aiming to achieve at least 65 percent local European content in select offerings.
