As a key element of the VLTP program’s high-end segment, the French DGA has commissioned 530 SERVAL vehicles from the temporary business venture between KNDS France and Texelis. Among these, 24 SERVAL C-UAV vehicles are set for delivery to the French Army from 2028, delivering a powerful counter-UAV capability. The French Military Programming Law (LPM) ultimately aims for 48 systems of this kind to be acquired.
SERVAL C-UAV: The Latest Addition to a Broad Family
The SERVAL C-UAV is equipped with the ARX®30 remotely-operated turret developed by KNDS France, designed to protect high-value assets closely. This marks the 23rd variant in the SERVAL family, which also includes versions for electronic warfare, medical support, troop transport, VSHORAD, and command posts. The SCORPION program’s core strength is its adaptability, with KNDS France continually innovating to provide solutions tailored to evolving, complex theaters such as the conflict in Ukraine.
The SERVAL C-UAV features a high-elevation, rapid-fire ARX®30 30mm cannon, along with radar, radiofrequency detection systems, and Airburst munitions, making it a crucial asset for counter-UAV warfare.
