General Dynamics Electric Boat, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, has announced a $987 million modification to its existing submarine production contract. The new agreement enhances efforts in component development, lead yard services for the class, and supplier readiness under the Submarine Industrial Base program.
This adjustment, confirmed by the U.S. Department of Defense, reflects increased investment in critical infrastructure and innovation supporting the nation’s undersea deterrent.
Project activities will primarily occur in Groton, Connecticut (70%), with additional work split between Newport News, Virginia (15%) and Quonset Point, Rhode Island (15%), with an estimated completion year of 2031.
