GE Aerospace’s LM2500 engines have been selected by the Indian Navy for use in its upcoming missile ships.

GE Aerospace stated on October 17, 2024, that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bangalore will assemble and test its renowned engines as part of a collaboration dating back to 1986. The missile vessels being built in India will be armed with advanced anti-surface weaponry and achieve speeds of 35 knots, using six LM2500 marine gas turbines and additional systems provided by GE Aerospace.
