Germany’s Diehl Defence has been awarded a contract worth 2.2 billion euros ($2.5 billion) to deliver additional IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems to Ukraine, as confirmed by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
The agreement will provide Ukraine with four complete air defense batteries, including command centers, mobile launch platforms, and radar systems, enhancing its ability to counter aerial and drone threats.
These systems will add to Ukraine’s existing IRIS-T arsenal, proven effective in intercepting cruise missiles, drones, and enemy aircraft during the ongoing conflict with Russia.
