General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) has been awarded a substantial contract by Germany to supply 256 Piranha V armored vehicles as part of a program to upgrade ground-based military telecommunications. Each unit will feature a 15-meter Tactical Wide Area Network tower, enabling future mobile communications and directional radio functionality. To support the project, GDELS will build a dedicated facility in Neubrandenburg for logistics and maintenance. The initial delivery phase will include 58 vehicles, set to arrive in 2026.
