Hanwha Ocean has revealed a next-generation strategic surface combatant concept, envisioned to serve as a flagship platform for South Korea’s evolving naval defense capabilities.
The futuristic design incorporates a wave-piercing hull optimized for high performance in rough seas, combined with a tumblehome structure that minimizes radar reflections, enabling enhanced stealth and survivability.
Inside the hull, layered weapon systems are arranged in staged deployment tiers, allowing the vessel to counter a broad spectrum of threats — from ballistic missiles to suicide drones — ensuring versatility across modern maritime operations.
