Lucknow-based defence startup Hoverlt has unveiled plans to develop the DIVYASTRA MKI, a multi-role autonomous tactical strike system designed for precision engagement, intelligence gathering, and swarm-based combat operations. Positioned as an indigenous loitering munition, the platform reflects India’s growing emphasis on AI-driven unmanned warfare under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

The DIVYASTRA MKI is envisioned as a versatile battlefield system capable of performing both strike and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. It integrates autonomous navigation, AI-enabled targeting, and swarm coordination, allowing it to function independently or as part of a networked combat formation. This dual capability places it within the emerging class of loitering strike systems that bridge the gap between UAVs and precision-guided munitions.

In terms of performance, the system is designed for an endurance of up to five hours and an operational range of approximately 500 kilometers. This extended endurance enhances its effectiveness in deep-strike and persistent surveillance roles, enabling it to loiter over target areas and engage at optimal moments. With an estimated terminal speed of 300–400 km/h, it is capable of rapid engagement, limiting the response window for enemy air defence systems.

A defining feature of the DIVYASTRA MKI is its fully autonomous architecture. The platform is expected to incorporate AI-driven decision-making systems capable of analyzing real-time battlefield data, identifying targets, and executing strike missions with minimal human input. Its swarm capability further strengthens operational impact by enabling coordinated attacks, saturation strikes, and decoy tactics to overwhelm adversary defences.

The system is designed to carry payloads of up to 15 kilograms, supporting various mission-specific warhead configurations. This capability, combined with precision targeting, makes it suitable for engaging high-value targets such as radar systems, command centers, and mobile assets. Its rapid deployment capability also enhances responsiveness in dynamic combat environments.

Beyond offensive roles, the DIVYASTRA MKI is expected to support ISR operations, delivering real-time intelligence and improved battlefield awareness. Its multi-mission flexibility allows it to perform extended loitering, decoy deployment, and coordinated strike operations in contested environments.
