India has signed a licensing pact with Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), based in Bangalore, to manufacture auxiliary systems for the Arjun main battle tanks.
As per the agreement, the public-sector firm will build Unit Maintenance and Unit Repair Vehicles, along with 70-ton tank transport trailers equipped with advanced hydraulic suspension.
These vehicles will be allocated to the Indian Army’s Armoured Corps, stationed in Maharashtra and responsible for managing heavy armored systems and combat machinery.
