Offering a glimpse into the future of battlefield technology, the Indian Army successfully employed a handheld directed-energy weapon (DEW) to destroy drones during a recent military exercise.
The exercise demonstrated the operational use of a compact DEW system against aerial threats, signaling India’s growing capability in high-precision energy weapons.
According to reports, the device is a DRDO-developed prototype, forming part of the nation’s ongoing program to introduce laser-powered counter-drone systems into its defense arsenal.
