On Monday, the US confirmed the approval of a $510 million weapons sale to Israel, including bomb guidance kits and logistical support, as Israel seeks to replenish its stockpile following recent airstrikes on Iran.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) emphasized that the deal will bolster Israel’s defenses against present and future threats, particularly in protecting its borders, critical assets, and civilian populations.
The transaction, already approved by the State Department, has been formally submitted to Congress for review.
The move follows Israel’s unprecedented June 13 aerial campaign against Iranian nuclear infrastructure, personnel, and high-ranking military officials—an effort to dismantle Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Iran continues to assert that its nuclear program is strictly peaceful, though the US and its allies argue otherwise.
Former President Donald Trump, who initially sought a diplomatic resolution after scrapping the 2015 nuclear agreement, eventually authorized US military strikes on Iranian nuclear targets.
