The heads of Eurofighter and the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) have officially signed a contract in Rome for the acquisition of up to 24 Eurofighter jets for the Italian Air Force. This milestone comes at a strategically significant moment for the Eurofighter program and follows a recent contract for 25 jets for the Spanish Air Force. The new Italian Eurofighter Typhoons will replace the older Tranche 1 models currently in service.
