Russia’s Kalashnikov has completed the first production batch of AM-17 rifles, chambered in 5.45mm. Certified and combat-tested in Ukraine, the 2.5-kg weapon folds below 50cm, ideal for vehicles and urban combat. Firing 800 rounds per minute with a 400-meter range, it reflects Moscow’s drive for light, mobile arms supporting armored crews, special forces, and law enforcement.
