Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace and Safran Power Units have renewed their long-term cooperation agreement for the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) propulsion, reaffirming their successful partnership. The deal includes an order for several hundred TR40 turbojet engines to support expanding global demand.
For years, Safran Power Units has supplied the TR40 engine that powers the NSM. As the missile continues to achieve success across NATO and EU countries, both companies are scaling their collaboration to accommodate increasing production requirements.
The agreement secures a robust production pipeline for Safran Power Units well into the next decade, allowing the company to confidently invest in expanding its industrial footprint and enabling sub-suppliers to grow in parallel.
Developed by Kongsberg, the NSM is a leading anti-ship missile with advanced performance and high survivability against modern defensive systems. Since its introduction with the Royal Norwegian Navy in 2012, the NSM has been widely adopted by countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Malaysia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Latvia, and Denmark.
