Canada has partnered with L3Harris’ Quebec-based division to evaluate the requirements for establishing an F-35 sustainment facility for the Royal Canadian Air Force. The proposed depot is part of Ottawa’s broader initiative to replace its aging CF-18 Hornet fleet with 88 CF-35A Lightning II fifth-generation fighter jets. As part of the infrastructure project, L3Harris will assess the necessary specifications, costs, and potential business opportunities associated with launching the center. The government selected L3Harris for the task due to its longstanding collaboration with the Royal Canadian Air Force, particularly in maintaining and servicing the current Hornet fleet.
