In a key Balikatan 2025 virtual exercise, Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army showcased how existing and new technologies can work together to deliver joint integrated fires. This is the first demonstration of its kind in the Indo-Pacific Command’s theater.

On May 5, 2025, during the Maritime Strike mission, the Lockheed Martin and U.S. Army team successfully linked targeting data across various platforms, dynamically rerouting a simulated rocket mid-flight to engage a moving surface target. This marks significant progress toward expanding HIMARS’ capabilities to address moving maritime targets.

By integrating previously incompatible offensive and defensive systems, warfighters gain greater operational flexibility.

This demonstration is an essential first step toward creating a multi-domain missile system for offensive and defensive missions.

Real-time data-linked fires can allow the Army to hit mobile targets without requiring high-cost seeker technology.

The exercise is part of Lockheed Martin’s continued efforts to integrate legacy systems with modern 21st Century Security® capabilities, ensuring rapid, cross-domain decision-making in complex operational environments.
