Lockheed Martin has secured a $245 million contract extension from the US Naval Sea Systems Command for the MK 48 Guidance and Control (G&C) program. This component is designed to enhance the performance of the Mod 7, the latest variant of the MK 48 submarine-launched torpedo. The upgrade will support both the US Navy and allied nations, including Australia, through foreign military sales. Completion of the work is scheduled for September 2027.
