The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to prototype the Quantum Inertial Navigation System (QuINS), an advanced navigation technology powered by motion-sensitive quantum sensors. QuINS offers precise position, velocity, and orientation tracking in GPS-denied environments. Lockheed Martin will execute the project in partnership with quantum technology firms Q-CTRL and AOSense.
