In a strategic collaboration, Lockheed Martin and Verizon have partnered with Nokia to embed commercial 5G capabilities into a next-generation telecommunications base station for military use. The initiative leveraged Lockheed’s 5G.MIL Hybrid Base Station (HBS), which integrates multi-domain tactical communications, to host Nokia’s military-grade 5G solutions. Trials successfully demonstrated data exchange between Nokia’s 5G systems and the HBS infrastructure, connecting test sites in Pennsylvania and Verizon’s Innovation Center in Boston.
