The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Finnish company Millog Oy have formalised a new armoured vehicle maintenance agreement aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between Sweden and Finland. The contract will ensure technical support for platforms like the Patria XA 202 armoured all-terrain vehicles.
FMV, responsible for defence procurement and equipment management for the Swedish Armed Forces, gains access to Millog’s advanced maintenance capabilities under this deal. The partnership also facilitates the use of Finland’s service network during military exercises and international operations.
“We are pleased with this deepening partnership that strengthens our shared defence framework. Through this agreement, Millog can support FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces both from Finland and on the ground in Sweden, or wherever required,” said Toni Piispa, Director of Millog Oy’s Authorities and Industry Business Unit.
As security requirements across Northern Europe continue to shift, so too does the need for enhanced mobility and increased Nordic cooperation. Patria armoured vehicles, known for their capability to operate across wide-ranging terrains, are well-suited to meet these emerging demands. The contract expands Sweden’s access to technical and logistical support throughout the region and supports further innovation in vehicle subsystem development.
Coming into force in spring 2025, the agreement is part of FMV’s strategic effort to maintain the readiness, maintenance, and advancement of essential defence assets in close coordination with Nordic partners.
