The Portuguese Navy has contracted OSI Maritime Systems to equip its six incoming Viana do Castelo-class offshore patrol vessels with advanced navigation solutions. The contract includes OSI’s Integrated Navigation and Tactical System (INTS), supporting the fleet’s transition to “paperless” operations at sea. Central to this system is the Canadian firm’s Electronic Chart Display and Information System 7 (ECPINS 7), which complies with NATO’s requirements for bathymetric data, water space management, and tactical symbology.
