Raytheon has landed a $536 million contract with the U.S. Navy to support the deployment of SPY-6 radar systems, aimed at boosting the Navy’s detection and tracking capabilities. The deal includes engineering services, training, integration, software updates, and onboard installation.
The contract is set to run until 2026 and is part of a larger modernization effort for naval platforms. Currently, SPY-6 systems are active on two Navy ships, and three more vessels are expected to receive installations before the year ends.
Looking ahead, the Navy plans to equip over 60 ships with SPY-6 radars in the coming decade, marking a significant expansion of its surveillance and threat-detection network at sea.
