Diehl Defence and POLARIS, two leading German defense firms, are joining forces to build a pilotless missile launch system.
Their Airborne Launching and Attack System (AirLAS) integrates Diehl’s proven IRIS-T air-to-air missile with a reusable unmanned aerial carrier developed by POLARIS.
The initiative seeks to offer militaries a cost-efficient solution for launching precision-guided weapons from the air without depending on crewed aircraft.
