As part of Italy’s initiative to modernize its armored forces, Rheinmetall has supplied a KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle to the Italian Army for preliminary evaluations prior to an expected order. The assessment supports a broader €5.2 billion ($5.3 billion) program launched in early 2024 to introduce new tracked platforms. Defense News reports that the vehicle is undergoing testing at the Montelibretti facility, with evaluations carried out by both the Italian military and domestic defense partner Leonardo.
