The Yantar Shipyard under United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has launched the Russian Navy’s newest Ivan Gren-class landing vessel, the RFS Vladimir Andreyev, at its Kaliningrad facility. This marks the third ship of a projected fleet of up to 11 such amphibious platforms that Russia plans to construct to reinforce its maritime logistical and combat support capabilities.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by top defense officials, including Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, and Svetlana Morik, deputy head of USC, who served as the ceremonial sponsor. Following its launch, the ship will enter the final outfitting phase, with official commissioning into the Pacific Fleet expected in 2026. Once operational, it will serve as a modern replacement for older amphibious vessels currently in service.
